Testimonials

Rebecca has helped transform a farm field into a beautifully classic garden that is a joy to be in. There are different zones to enjoy that blend with a pool, a tennis court and a welcoming front entrance. What made this project such a joy to work on was that Rebecca took a brief, did the research, enhanced the vision well beyond what we started with and oversaw the implementation with impeccable attention to detail. She was mindful of the budget and supported her recommendations with intelligence and experience.

In 2001 I had a rather huge task in designing a garden around a lifestyle block that consisted of sand predominantly and a rather challenging climate with sea spray to boot. I met with a couple of different garden/landscape designers, but found Rebecca and her team very easy going and excited about the project which was infectious.??

The result of the garden is testament to her design. I have had millions of compliments, and when I have needed more advice on different areas Rebecca has been very good at listening to what I want and always comes up with a superb idea or plan.?

I cannot fault the way Rebecca works, it is professional and incredibly knowledgeable, with references to fabulous suppliers and a sense of conviction that once I embraced could not fault.??

I confess I didn?t follow the plan completely and now 10 years on, I wished I had. I wished I had done the coloured concrete and the gorgeous big trough between the stables and the house, however the washing line…still remains elusive.??

I whole heartedly recommend Rebecca. She has inspired me and made the enormous garden task fun. ENJOY!!?

Rebecca designed our garden plan for our?1920?s Arts and Craft style house in Otaki. We feel she did a fantastic job of?getting the feeling and scale right for a large, old English style house and garden.?The style she has used for us in Otaki is?reminiscent of Gertrude Jekyll, the?great English landscape designer.

The beautiful sweeping, curved step with?granite set edge,?outside the?front door, is a delight to sit at on a sunny Saturday morning,?sipping away at a latte, whilst surveying the expansive lawn. The magnificent pergola and?oversized pavers provide?a grand entrance, lined with Dublin Bay, Graham Thomas?and Gertrude Jekyll roses that is befitting of the special house that it is.

We are thrilled with Rebecca?s work, she is?one of the most creative people we know, it is a joy to work with her on our?garden projects

We first heard about Rebecca by word of mouth from a client of hers who was extremely satisfied with her?work. We phoned Rebecca and she came to our house. We gave her a brief of what we liked and didn?t like. She took photos and measurements and within a short space of time came back to us with various options.

We had a number of important meetings and she gave us a lot of wonderful ideas with regards to paving, colours and types of plants that would survive the elements with regards to where we live and garden layout to suit our requirements.

It all came together wonderfully well, we were very happy with the?ideas and recommendations she put forward and in fact her overall attitude was refreshing. We would use her services again if we needed to.

We asked Rebecca to redesign our garden after an extensive renovation to the house.? We wanted to introduce some Japanese influences to blend with established trees and other existing plantings and link the house and garden.? Rebecca?s plan incorporated these elements and introduced new features which have enhanced the property.? She was a pleasure to work with and very enthusiastic about our ideas.? We are delighted with the result which complements the house and now have a lovely garden for all seasons.

Rahiwi is the 4th property landscaping design that Rebecca of Earthwork has completed for us.

Each property has been of a completely different period and design, in different environments, with differing budgets.? In each case Rebecca has produced stunning results that complement the style of the properties and fulfilled our purpose.

We like the way Rebecca takes on all aspects of what we want to achieve and takes detailed measurements of the properties.? The plans she produces make it easy to visualise the end result.

We appreciate the fact we can question her on any aspects of the design and she is not afraid to be frank about things she feels strongly about.? Rebecca is always ready to help out when you get a bit stuck on the implementation or want to tweak the design.? She is also fun to work with.

With all properties people have approached us to complement us on our landscaping.? We would recommend Rebecca of Earthwork to anyone.

I?had the house ‘rearranged’?for an indoor – outdoor flow, but outdoors was not cooperating.? The garden had rather an old-fashioned look and the seafront?I soon discovered, was not the place to grow a luscious lawn.

To me, the foundation of any good garden is the design, especially for a small one, which can be very unforgiving if the proportions are not just right.??I didn’t have the courage to attack this project on my own, so?I turned to Rebecca for advice as?I had seen her work locally and knew that?I wouldn’t get ‘boring’!

As instructed,?I collected samples from magazines and books so that Rebecca could assess what would suit me, my lifestyle and my personality.? Once the ‘flat’ plan was drawn up Rebecca also met with my builder, who had agreed to take the project on.? Together we translated the vision?into builder speak.

The garden is a just a few years old now -?I loved the design from the start and it improves with time. The small space provides me with several different areas including a sunken ‘conversation pit’ where?I have privacy from passers-by and amazing protection from the prevailing northerly winds.? The deck is a triumph for a small space?- it ?reaches out into the garden in a curve that connects the house?and carries the eye around the whole garden.

Working with Rebecca was a fun experience, she?understood what?I wanted,?inspired confidence and is a true artist.
